YSH Series Y-Strainer from Hayward Flow Control

Clemmons, NC (May 11, 2026) – Hayward Flow Control announces the introduction of the new YSH Series Y-Strainer product line, the most advanced thermoplastic Y–Strainer design in the industry.  The YSH Series offers a new patent-pending design that prioritizes low maintenance, improved performance, and ease of installation and service.  The YSH Series design features a One-piece injection molded body with an increased barrel size and optimized barrel angle, resulting in improved flow performance and increased flow capacity, Cv.  As an industry first, the YSH Series also includes a one-piece perforated thermoplastic screen in multiple perforations with welded end caps and snap fit retainer design for increased strength, open area and straining capacity.

The YSH Series Y-Strainers are available in both True Union end and Integral socket or threaded end designs.  The True Union Y-Strainers are available in sizes ½” – 2” / DN15 – DN50 with IPS, DIN/EN or JIS Socket, Threaded or Flanged End connections.  The Integral Y-Strainers are available in sizes ½” – 2” with IPS Socket or Threaded End connections.  All Y-Strainers are constructed from PVC, Clear PVC or CPVC materials with EPDM or FPM o-rings and fully pressure rated for 150 PSI / 10 Bar at 70°F / 21°C non-shock.  

Additional options include Blow out drain port – drill and tap, Stainless Steel and Alloy perf and mesh screens, as well as other o-ring materials.  An industry first in thermoplastic Y-strainers, the YSH Series also provides Drilled & Tapped boss access points for pressure gauges for sizes 1" / DN25 and larger.

Typical applications or installations for the YSH Series Y-Strainer include, but are not limited to, municipal waste and water treatment, clean water technology, chemical transfer and processing, aquatic and animal support systems, mining and mineral processing, metal plating / surface finishing, marine, cooling systems, and other demanding applications.
