o CPVC Cell Class 23447 per ASTM D1784
o FPM, EPDM and PTFE O-Ring Seals

All thermoplastic diaphragm valves shall be manufactured from PVC Type 1, Grade 1 (ASTM D1784, Cell Classification 12454), CPVC (ASTM D1784, Cell Classification 23447), natural Polypropylene (ASTM D4101, Cell Classification 85580) or PVDF (ASTM D3222, Cell Classification Type II). All o-rings shall be EPDM or FPM for chemical service required. Diaphragm material choices shall include EPDM, FPM or PTFE for chemical service required. To avoid permeation of aggressive chemicals thru the diaphragm valve internals, a PVDF vapor barrier shall be available and specified. The diaphragm valve body shall be weir-type design. All 1/2" - 2" sizes of diaphragm valves shall be available in true union and flanged design. Larger sizes, 3" - 10" shall be flanged design only. A multi-turn handwheel shall allow precision throttling of downstream flow. A clear, polycarbonate position indicator shall allow visual indication of valve position throughout entire stroke. An adjustable travel-stop shall be provided (and protected inside the position indicator) to allow stroke adjustment. All 1/2" - 4" sizes shall be pressure-rated for 150 PSI at 70°F non-shock; All 6" and larger sizes shall be pressure-rated for 75 PSI at 70°F non-shock. All diaphragm valves shall carry a three-year warranty, and shall be manufactured by Hayward Flow Control.
