Hayward Flow Control products and solutions are used in a wide variety of applications and installations worldwide. Made of industrial grade thermoplastics, our products deliver superior corrosion and chemical resistance, as well as insuring purity of media, versus traditional metal based flow control products. We are proud to serve the following markets and industries.
One of the most critical areas for thermoplastic piping systems, Aquatics and Animal Life Support requires the greatest attention to product quality and performance, as well as partnering with owners, engineering firms, and life support operators of Aquariums & Zoos. Hayward Flow Control is dedicated to ensuring that aquatic and animal life support systems function properly with the best equipment available, from our BYV Series Butterfly Valves to our LifeStar Aquatic Pumps. We continue to invest in, and develop, new products and technology in the USA to support these systems, as well as supporting global industry associations for Aquariums & Zoos.
As fish stocks in the wild become more threatened, Aquaculture is key to sustaining the global population. As with Life Support Systems for Aquariums, thermoplastic piping systems and components are a must to insure the viability and safety for fish farms and hatcheries globally. Hayward's extensive range of thermoplastic flow control products are designed to meet this challenge, from simple ball valves, bag and sand filtration to dosing and variable speed pumps, Hayward is dedicated to serving this industry for years to come.
Chemical Processing and Handling often require products that have superior corrosion, abrasive and chemical resistance to get the job done. Thermoplastics have been a key factor in these systems since their inception. As such, Hayward Flow Control products offer materials capable of handling the most aggressive chemicals where metals cannot.
With products and solutions available in PVC, CPVC, PP, GFPP and PVDF, Hayward continues to innovate and expand its offering to service this market and its requirements, such as our new HLS Level Sensors for chemical storage tanks. Some of the key applications and chemicals our products service include:
One of the harshest applications for any piping system, Mining installations require their systems to perform under high stress in terms of performance, safety, and costs. Hayward has thermoplastic solutions ready for the demanding needs of mineral extraction, be it extreme environmental conditions, to corrosive fluids that metal systems cannot handle.
From our industry leading TB Series ball valves to our world-renown GFPP filters and strainers, Hayward Flow Control products and solutions are designed for use in PVC, CPVC, PE and PP piping systems and applications such as:
Water is fast becoming the most critical resource in the world. Clean drinking water is no longer a given. For more than 50 years, Hayward Flow Control's thermoplastic flow control products and solutions have proven to excel in water treatment systems. Thousands of customers worldwide have installed our products into various systems where the corrosion resistance and strictest chemical balance are required to keep up with the growing demands of progressive water treatment technologies.
We understand the precise requirements for waste & water treatment systems and are committed to offering advantageous fluid handling products for your application that will keep your systems working right for years to come. Hayward solutions are ready for your water treatment operation - from drinking and waste water treatment to industrial water treatment.
Our industry-leading products are ideally suited for the vast range of requirements and applications in water treatment systems, from public utility / municipal to clean water technology, including, but not restricted to these areas:
Hayward has solutions ready for the demanding needs of Oil and Gas applications. Our thermoplastic flow control products are suited water management applications as well as for a vast range of applications where corrosion, abrasion and chemical resistance are a must for the success of your production site.
With the growth of hydraulic fracturing, Hayward's industry leading FLV Series thermoplastic bag and cartridge filters are ideal in water recovery and reclamation skids or systems due to their robustness of design as well as light weight and corrosion resistance. Our revolutionary BYV Series Butterfly Valve is ideally suited for chemical and water storage tanks used at the drill pad. Additionally, Hayward's extensive program of pneumatic and electric actuators allows you the ability to commonize both your thermoplastic and metal valve control needs.
Finally, even on offshore drilling rigs, combined with their substantially reduced weight versus metal, thermoplastics are ideal for the harsh atmospheric and corrosive conditions and forces that rigs are exposed to 24/7. Haywards thermoplastic solutions are ideal for “water maker” systems to convert salt water to fresh, as well as the conveyance of water or waste, to the rigs ballast water systems.
Areas where Hayward products can be used include but not limited to are:
Due to its inherent properties of light weight and environmental corrision resistance, thermoplastic piping lends itself very well to Marine and Ship Building applications. From ballast water systems and drinking water systems to water filtration systems and onboard desalinization, Hayward offers flow control products to meet your specifications for Shipbuilding and Marine. To support our customers, we now back up our key CPVC products and solutions with ABS Approval.
Ballast water treatment to reduce or eliminate the transfer of AIS and pathogens is now a must for all ships with the establishment of the IMO regulation (2004 IMO Convention for the Control and Management). Thermoplastic piping systems and controls are extensively used for the skids and systems now required on vessels to eliminate AIS in ballast water. Hayward works tightly with its partners in this market segment to insure that our products meet their specifications and needs worldwide.
Haywards thermoplastic strainers and bag / cartridge filters as well as valves can be found on many ships today around the world and recognized by leading engineering firms.
Metal plating and Surface Finishing was one of the early adoptors of thermoplastics piping and materials. As such, this has been one of Haywards earliest markets, using almost all of our products, from TB Series ball valves, to our T- and S- Series Corrosion Resistant Immersible pumps.
Haywards thermoplastic solutions are a natural in this market, as almost every metal-salt plating solution can be handled easily, including brass, cadmium, chrome, copper, gold, lead, nickel, rhodium, silver, tin, and zinc. In Surface Finishing thermoplastics are used whenever possible for their corrosion resistance and long term performance in applications such as automotive, aircraft, electrotyping, and canning industries.
Even in steel mills, steel piping is being replaced with thermoplastics. Steel plant engineers have found that manufacturing costs improved with use of thermoplastics because of reduced maintenance, lower material costs and longer life provided by industrial thermoplastic materials.
Key areas and chemicals for Hayward thermoplastic products include but not restricted to:
✓ Hot and Cold Water
✓Chemical Feed Lines
✓Chemical Waste Treatment
As Power Generation continues to be a growing concern globally, new forms of technology continue to evolve and challenge piping systems. As aggressive and corrosive chemicals are used often, thermoplastic piping systems have the mechanical ability to handle those caustic fluids that need to be transported throughout a power generation facility. Materials such as CPVC and GFPP perform very well in these installations. Products such as our revolutionary WCV Series Full Pattern Wafer Check and SW Series Swing Check excel in these applications.
Hayward's thermoplastic solutions have been used in many installations globally, where current and new technologies require de-mineralized water for boilers, or require the use of highly corrosive and caustic chemicals in critical areas such as:
